The DeepTicker Official Competition

DeepTicker Official Competition rules

Everything you need to know to compete, in plain language. Capital, minimum activity, risk limits, prize eligibility and how the winner is decided.

In 4 lines

  • · You start with $50,000 virtual cash and real prices.
  • · To be eligible for prizes: 1 valid trade per month (a buy or sell of at least $1,000).
  • · You can't hold more than 50% of your portfolio in a single ticker (long or short).
  • · No one is removed: if you don't meet the rules you keep playing and stay in the ranking, but you're not eligible for prizes that edition.

1. Capital and operations

  • $50,000 virtual cash. Everyone starts with the same play-money capital. The market is real: every trade executes at the live price of the moment.
  • US stocks and ETFs in dollars only. No leveraged products (2x, 3x) and no inverse products: this is about investing, not betting blindly.
  • $1 commission per trade. Just like a real broker, so you learn not to over-trade.
  • Locked-in prices. The price is set by the server at the moment you trade and logged, so there's no cheating.

2. Minimum monthly activity to be eligible for prizes

This is a competition, not a showcase. To be eligible for prizes, each participant must make at least 1 valid trade per month.

  • A valid trade = a buy or sell executed for a minimum amount of $1,000. Buying or selling $50 doesn't count: it's a token trade.
  • Automatic orders (take-profit / stop-loss) count as a valid trade only when they execute and if they exceed $1,000 — not when you set them up.

There's no expulsion. If you miss a month, you keep playing and stay in the ranking; you simply won't be eligible for prizes in that edition. You're never locked out.

3. The 50% per-ticker limit

So no one bets everything on a single stock, there's a concentration cap: you can't hold more than 50% of your portfolio value invested in a single ticker.

  • If you try a buy or a short that would push that ticker above 50%, the trade is blocked and we let you know — both long and short.
  • If a position rises above 50% because of a price increase, you're not forced to sell. You just won't be able to buy more of that ticker while it stays above 50%.

4. Prize eligibility status, always in view

Inside the competition dashboard you'll see at all times whether you're eligible for prizes, so no one slips through the cracks. There are three states:

  • ✅ Eligible for prizes: you've met this month's minimum activity.
  • ⚠️ Action required: you still need 1 valid trade this month to stay eligible.
  • ⊘ Not eligible for prizes: you haven't met the required minimum activity (or you joined late). You can keep playing and appear in the ranking, but won't receive prizes that edition.

We'll remind you as the end of the month approaches so you don't miss your trade.

5. Late entry

You can join the competition whenever you like. But anyone who joins in the last month of the edition appears in the ranking with the “Not eligible for prizes” label: they play and compete, but don't enter the prize pool for that edition. That way no one can swoop in at the last minute to grab the prize with an all-or-nothing gamble.

6. A single ranking

Every participant appears in the same ranking. Those who aren't eligible show up slightly dimmed with the “Not eligible for prizes” mark. If a non-eligible participant finishes in a prize position, the prize passes to the next eligible participant.

In the event of a tie, the winner is whoever has the lower maximum drawdown (the smaller drop from a peak). If the tie still stands, the winner is whoever joined the competition earlier.

7. One person, one prize

The competition rewards people, not accounts. Each person can receive only one prize per edition. DeepTicker may request a basic identity verification before handing out prizes, and using multiple accounts to compete in the same edition may forfeit the right to a prize.

The full detail (ID with official documentation, taxes and delivery of the prize to the verified person) is in the official competition terms.

8. Prizes

This edition runs from 8 June to 8 December 2026, 23:59 (Spanish time). When it closes, these prizes are shared among the eligible participants:

🥇

1st place

$250 in cash
+ 1 year of Premium subscription

🥈

2nd and 3rd place

1 year of Premium subscription

🏅

4th and 5th place

6 months of Premium subscription

🤖

Ahead of the AI

Anyone who finishes ahead of the 🤖 DeepTicker AI: 1 month of Premium subscription

Important: the prize for finishing ahead of the 🤖 DeepTicker AI (1 month) is only for someone who isn't already in the top 5. If you win a bigger prize (places 1st to 5th), that prize already covers everything: no extra month is added for beating the AI. Each participant receives a single prize: the best one they're entitled to.

Prizes are settled when the competition closes (8 December). The $250 is paid by DeepTicker directly to the winner. If you already have a subscription, the prize time is added on top of when your current subscription ends (nothing is lost). If you finish ahead of the 🤖 DeepTicker AI, you play the next competition for free.

To claim a prize you'll need to identify yourself with an official document (ID card or your country's equivalent), and each person can receive only one prize per edition — see the official competition terms.

9. Alpha level

The Alpha level is a rating that measures your risk-adjustedreturn versus the S&P 500: not just how much you make, but how much risk you took to get there.

It's only calculated for people who play the Official Competition. It's a way to reward consistency, not just one lucky home run. Private Leagues don't change your Alpha level.

10. Private Leagues

The Private Leagues you set up with your friends run separately from the Official Competition and have no prize: they're pure bragging rights between friends. Whoever creates the league chooses the rules:

  • Relaxed: no minimum activity and no 50% cap. For playing without pressure.
  • Official: the same rules as the Official Competition (1 valid trade per month, a 50% per-ticker cap and visible eligibility).

Each participant starts with $50,000 virtual cash and shares a live ranking with the rest of the league.

11. Free vs PRO in the competitions

Playing is always free: anyone can compete in the Official Competition, be eligible for prizes and join leagues with friends without paying a thing. Having a subscription (PRO) adds extras:

 FreePRO
Play the Official Competition
Be eligible for prizes (meeting the activity)
Private Leagues (create/join)1up to 5

In short: the competition hooks you for free; the subscription gives you more leagues, the AI commentary and all the tools to compete better.
