How to read the market today
The indices sum up how each market is doing: the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq set the pace for the US. If they are green, most large companies are gaining ground today; if they are red, the opposite.
The commodities (gold, oil) and the VIX help you read the mood: gold tends to rise when there is fear, oil reflects the economy and geopolitics, and a high VIX warns of nervousness. These are context signals, not recommendations.
Remember: what happens today is noise over the long term. What really drives the value of a company is its profits and its valuation. That is what fundamental analysis is for.
Stocks rising the most today
In the movers block above you have the stocks rising the most today and the ones falling the most, with their percentage change for the session. It is the first thing many people look at, but it is worth taking with care: a stock jumping in a single day usually reflects a one-off piece of news (earnings, a deal, a rumour), not the business suddenly improving.
Before buying whatever is rising the most, ask yourself whether the company is good and whether it is cheap or expensive. That is exactly the difference between following headlines and investing with criteria: review its company profile and weigh it against the DeepTicker Score for business quality.
Sectors rising the most today
The sectors rising the mosttoday give you a clue about the market's mood. When cyclical sectors lead (technology, consumer discretionary, industrials) there is usually optimism; when defensives lead (consumer staples, health, utilities), caution dominates. You can see the detail in the sector bars on this page and dig deeper in the Market Dashboard.
US stock market hours today
To know how the market is doing today, it helps to watch Wall Street (S&P 500 and Nasdaq), which sets the global pace. The indices table above shows them with their daily change. Below you have the trading hours of each market, already converted to your region's time.
Market hours
your local timeTimes converted automatically to your local time zone. DeepTicker publishes its market reading five times a day (IBEX and Europe open, Wall Street open, midday, European close and US close).
Whichever market you follow, the logic is the same: the day is noise, the fundamentals are what matter. When a company interests you, look at its quality and its valuation before trading. And if you are going to trade around earnings, check the earnings calendar first.
Don't invest on the headline of the day. With DeepTicker you can see whether a stock is good and whether it is cheap or expensive, with serious analysis made simple.

What time does the US stock market (Wall Street) open?
The regular Wall Street session (NYSE and Nasdaq) opens at 9:30 a.m. and closes at 4:00 p.m. New York time. The exact local time depends on your time zone, and the table below shows each market with its hours already converted to your region.
What is the VIX or "fear index"?
The VIX measures the expected 30-day volatility of the S&P 500. When it rises, it reflects more nervousness in the market (sell-offs or uncertainty); when it falls, more calm. Above 30 usually signals stress; below 15–20, a quieter market.
Why is the market up or down today?
In the short term the market moves on macro news (interest rates, inflation, employment), company earnings, geopolitics and sentiment. Over the long term, what matters is company profits and valuation, which is exactly what fundamental analysis focuses on.
How often is this data updated?
Prices refresh roughly every 10 minutes and may be shown with some delay depending on the market. For analysis, what matters is not the tick-by-tick but the trend and the fundamentals.
Which stocks are rising the most today?
In the "Stocks rising and falling the most today" section you can see the biggest moves in the US market during the session, with their percentage change. A stock rising sharply on a single day does not mean it is a good investment: before buying, it is worth checking whether it is cheap or expensive and the quality of the business, which is exactly what DeepTicker analyses.
What do "risk appetite" and "risk aversion" mean?
They describe the market regime: when there is risk appetite (risk-on), most companies rise, the VIX is low and money seeks returns. When there is risk aversion (risk-off), caution dominates, the VIX rises and money moves to safety. We infer it from how many S&P 500 companies are rising versus falling and from the level of the VIX.
Which sectors are doing best today?
In "Sectors rising and falling the most today" you can see the average performance of each sector (technology, energy, health, financials, etc.). When cyclical sectors lead it usually signals optimism; when defensives lead (consumer staples, health, utilities), more caution.
